Driver checks is a new part of the EZY GPS bus, coach and transport operators. Drivers do their pre-start and end of shift checks on a shared tablet. They sign one report that brings together their checks and the bus’s GPS movement. And the office sees it all in one place. It's in beta. So if something could work better for your depot, tell us. There are two sides. The manager portal, where you add drivers, connect the tablet, review checks, and print reports. And the driver app on a shared tablet at the depot, where drivers pick their name, do their checks, and sign. One thing to know, a driver's name isn't a login. Drivers never need your portal password. To set it up, sign into the portal and choose driver checks. Open the Drivers tab. Type each driver's full name, the way they'll sign it, and select add driver name. Next, app set up. Set your company time zone and save it. Check times and printed reports use this setting. Now connect the tablet. Do this on the tablet itself, signed in as a manager. Give it a name, like main depot tablet. Then tick the buses drivers can choose on it. Select, connect this tablet, then sign out, and open driver checks. The tablet is now in driver mode, and stays connected for 30 days. At the start of a shift, the driver picks their name and selects continue. They choose their bus, check the rego, and select begin pre-start check before walking around the vehicle. There are nine items, brakes and steering, tyres and wheels, lights and horn, and visibility. Then the body and compartments, doors and exits, the passenger area, emergency equipment, and wheelchair access. Each one is checked OK or defect. Add the odometer if your operator needs it, tick the declaration, and select agree and save start checks. Pre-start check saved. The shift is now open. If there's a problem, choose defect and describe it. Where it is and what you saw. When a defect is saved, the driver is told not to depart in that bus. It's blocked from another start until a supervisor records a resolution. Back at the depot, the driver picks their name again. The app finds their open shift. They select begin end of shift check. The first item matters most. Walk the whole bus and make sure no passengers or children remain. Then tyres and wheel nuts, the inside and outside condition, lost property, and that the bus is parked and secured. Select save final checks and review report, and the combined report opens. The driver checks it over, their start checks, final checks, and the GPS activity for the shift. If it matches, they choose reviewed, matches my shift. If something's missing or wrong, they choose need supervisor review and explain. They draw a signature or type their name, confirm, and select sign combined report. Wait for shift report signed. That's the shift done. Shifts that run past midnight stay as one record until they're finished. In the office, open days work and pick a date. You'll see who worked, signed reports, anything awaiting a signature, and open shifts. Open view checks for the inspection, or view signed shift report for the copy the driver signed. Print all gives you every signed report for the day, plus a cover sheet of anything missing or unsigned. Shift records lets you find older shifts and filter for unfinished or completed ones. Defect, show on the overview under supervisor attention. Get the bus assessed or repair the way you normally would. Then select record resolution and describe what was done, who did it and why it's ready to use. The driver's original answers are kept, and your name and the time are added to the record. If a shift was opened by mistake, a supervisor can cancel it with a reason. The history stays. For vehicle movement, open reports, then the GPS movement report. Searching VMD finds it too. Choose the vehicle and the period. A full day, a driver's shift with start and finish times, or the operating day. Select run report. You'll see GPS distance, driving and stationary time, top recorded speed, and a timeline of every journey and stop. Print it, save it as a PDF, or export a CSV. A few tips. When a driver leaves archive their name, their past shifts stay. If a tablet is lost or replaced, disconnect it in app setup. And if a tab or button is missing, it's usually a permission. Ask your company owner or us. That's driver checks, daily checks, signed reports, and vehicle movement together in one place. Questions or feedback? Call us on 1300-399-477.
